The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Frederick Burns can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Great memories

Mr. Burns was one heck of a guy!! He has known me since I was in Kindergarden, and throughout them years I can remember Mr. Burns in quite a bit!! From him driving us to and from the Phillies game in sixth grade (on the BVM safeties trip) where I got a foul ball and we all made it on ESPN top 10 the next day, driving us to and from practices in his work truck while sitting on a milk crate listening to sports radio, I felt like it was always Howard Eskin (back then I hated it but nowadays it's all I listen to), sleepovers, getting us work during Christmas break at his job, along with many others. One memory sticks out the most and that's when Mr Burns agreed to coach our High School CYO Basketball team (I still believe he was very reluctant to do so haha). Not only did he put up with our "circuslike" antics, but he sent fred myself and I believe Holland to the "All Star" game. Not only should our team have gotten skipped over for all stars that year, but we were able to put another coach through the craziness that we put Mr Burns through (he is one of the few that would have been able to deal with us). While there, we decided to run a football play during inbounding the ball. Quickly after that, we were benched...it didn't end there...minutes later, Fred had the bright idea of checking himself back into the game when the coach wasn't looking!!!! Man did we have some great times!!! Thank you Mr Burns for all of your wisdom and good times!! I always remember you being there for school events and sports!! You were a great man and made/have a top notch family (jimmy is ok...haha jk)... Rest easy!!! Matt Blong
