Cornelius F. Grogan, 86 of Broomall, PA, passed away on Monday January 1, 2018 at the Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, PA.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Cornelius P Grogan and the late Catherine (Vesey) Grogan of Ireland. He grew up in the South Philadelphia neighborhood known as the “Devils Pocket”. He later moved to Broomall, PA and was a member of St. Anastasia Church, Newtown Square.
Cornelius was very proud of his Irish heritage; he had a gift for storing telling and loved to re-count his many adventures. He taught many generations how to ride a bike, play half-ball and enjoy board games. Mr. Grogan retired from Philadelphia Newspapers in 2014. He proudly served in the Korean War in the US Army.
