Cornelius F.  Grogan
Cornelius F. Grogan, 86 of Broomall, PA, passed away on Monday January 1, 2018 at the Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, PA.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Cornelius P Grogan and the late Catherine (Vesey) Grogan of Ireland. He grew up in the South Philadelphia neighborhood known as the “Devils Pocket”. He later moved to Broomall, PA and was a member of St. Anastasia Church, Newtown Square.

Cornelius was very proud of his Irish heritage; he had a gift for storing telling and loved to re-count his many adventures. Cornelius had many interests but spending time with his family was his first passion. He loved to play sports & games with his family and friends. Give him a bottle cap, pimple-ball and a cracked sidewalk and he could devise a game to keep the neighborhood kids entertained for hours. He taught many generations how to ride a bike, play half-ball and enjoy board games. Mr. Grogan retired from Philadelphia Newspapers in 2014. He proudly served in the Korean War in the US Army.

Predeceased by his parents, Son David,grandson Neil Grogan and his beloved sisters Marie Preston, Kathleen Urmson and Betty Albertoli.
Survived by his wife: Catherine T Grogan, three daughters: Elaine Grogan-Feigenbutz, Michelle Grogan-Morrow and Patty Grogan, and four sons: Neil Grogan, James Grogan, Ken Smith and Raymond Grogan. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 9 greatgrandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Mass on Friday, January 12 at 11:00 at Saint Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newton Square.
Visitation from 10:00 AM – 11:00AM at St. Anastasia Church.
Interment private.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation, Ronald McDonald house (Philadelphia) or the Wounded Warriors Project, PO. BOX 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
